Complete Hood Box
On machinery where the metal base is a self supporting structure, a hood box where we do not fabricate a base / bottom. The sides and ends are connected though several means:
1) Metal Clips
2) Brackets attached to the machine
3) Lumber held under compression
4) Nuts welded on the base to bolt to attach to.
Hood boxing reduces the weight, the height, the packing cost, and packing time.
Partial Hood Boxing
Partial hood boxing covers only those items that are susceptible to theft or easily damaged.
If there are electrical components, those surfaces are first wrapped with VCI film to protect the sensitive surfaces or components.
VCI emitters or desiccant bags can further be placed inside electronic consoles to increase the protection level.
Partial hood boxing is much less expensive than export packing or standard hood boxing further reducing the tare weight of the packaging.
